AI-Powered Search: The Next Google Killer?

You ever typed something into Google, got a bunch of links, and thought, I don’t have time for this? Same. That’s why AI-powered search engines like Perplexity AI, ChatGPT, and You.com are creeping into the game. They don’t just throw links at you—they summarize, explain, and even give opinions. Basically, they’re like that one friend who reads the entire Wikipedia page so you don’t have to.

Sounds amazing, right? Well, kind of. AI search is great when you want a quick breakdown of complex stuff—coding problems, research papers, even “explain this legal contract in plain English”. But here’s the problem: they can make stuff up. No fact-checking, no sources (sometimes), and if you ask for breaking news, you might get yesterday’s gossip.

Google isn’t dead yet, but it’s definitely watching. With Bard AI and SGE (Search Generative Experience), Google’s trying to fight back. But will AI search engines kill the need for endless scrolling? Or will they just be another tech trend we all forget about in six months?

Let me know what you think—are you ditching Google for AI search, or do you still trust the good old blue links?
